I’ve continued plugging away at the pixel art course I’ve been working in this month, and have completed two more assignments. I’m surprised at how much I’ve been enjoying it. The course has shifted fully to animation now.
Here’s a shot of an animated swordsman. Tiny wee swordsman to be exact. I thought this was better than the first animation I did, and I kind of like the motion blur that we learned.
The next assignment was to animate a flapping bird. I chose to go a different route. I mean, why draw a bird when you can draw a dragon? Here’s what I ended up with.
I like the coloring on this one, but the motion is a bit jerky and stiff. Still, for the third animation I’ve ever created, I’m satisfied. For this one, we shifted to a program called Asesprite, which has more layering options for art than did PiskelApp.
I hope to reach 20 things created this month, which will be short of my initial goal, but I’m happy that I haven’t given up.
